Why I signed up for the MDP:
In November 2005 I joined the MUP (MINDSTORMS Users Panel), in February 2005 I joined the MDP and now I am a member of the MCP :) (MINDSTORMS Community Panel). For me it is a great honor to be one of the 120 lucky guys who have the possibility to test and play with the NXT before it will be officially available. MUP/MDP/MCP is a big opportunity for both sides (LEGO and the community) and it brings a lot of advantages for every member of the project! Thanks!

Experience with MINDSTORMS:
First contact with the RCX was 6 or 7 years ago and since this time I have been a big fan of the yellow brick and I've been using BrickOS from the beginning.

About this NXT Project:
This egg-plotter-bot was originally an RCX invention and used two LEGO rotation sensors. The new NXT model also uses 2 rotation sensors (this time they are built into the NXT motors). Mike Brandl was one of the first MINDSTORMers I met on the web - and for 3 years we have been talking (typing) nearly every day (in winter more than in summer - it depends a little bit of the weather). I personally met Mike only two times in my life: BB04 and BB05 (BB = Bricking Bavaria - a private Lego event in the vicinity of Munich). But hopefully I will see him again on BB06 in the beginning of the December 2006 :) In the meantime we will talk on MSN Messenger and prepare the common project for BB06... like last year ;-)
