Tilt the Tank (Sensoroverload)!!
Hello again! Tilt the Tank is my first entry to the sensoroverload challenge! It uses one color sensor to control the movements of the tank when you tilt the controller! It is very compact and works well. I will talk more about the tank and the controller in the following steps-The Tank, The Gun, The Controller, The Files, and The Conclusion.

The Tank

This tank is a very compact, treaded vehicle. It is remote controlled by the tilt controller in the step after the next step.:p The touch sensors in the front are programmed to make the tank back up if the tank is controlled into an object in front of it.

The Gun

The gun of the tank doesn't actually shoot it-it just moves up and down. It is geared vertically so the motor's energy is moved towards the top. It moves up and down forever when the remote control program is running. You can kind of see the gearing in pic 2.

The Controller

Here is the controller i use to move the tank. The color sensor moves left and right and the yellow bricks move forward and stay level. When the color sensor sees different or no color it does different actions like moving left, right, forward, or stopping. Unfortunately, it isn't able to move backwards.

The Files

The movie, and (maybe) ldd of the controller will be coming very very soon. The program is now here though! :D

The Conclusion

Overall, this is by far my best project so far. I hope that this may win the color sensor award in the challenge. You can probably expect another entry to this challenge too. I hope you liked it!! Please comment and rate!!!!! oh and visit my other projects and comment on them too!

Oh and by the way do you know of any all-terrain features for the new challenge? I have tracks with suspension down but i am shooting for the ultimate explorer... Please respond soon if know of any!:)

  • Usually when i build a project i always drag it out and i finally finish in a month or so, but if your looking for total building and programming time then i would say about 24 hours.
