Mars Curiosity Rover II
This Rover is an update to the last curiosity rover I made which is the first tagged picture. this rover is four wheel drive and turns by the four outside wheels all turning in which makes the robot turn in a circle. The hardest part to make was the wheels that would turn, move the wheels, and support the weight of the vehicle. It has three motors, one NXT(soon 2), one ultrasonic sensor, two touch sensors in the back (not plugged in in the pictures), and one color sensor.

Ipod touch 4g capabilities

On your ipod touch you can simply push "record" and slip your ipod into the slot in the front of the rover and your off! It will record your mission and watch it again! The last tagged picture is the picture or video format you would get from the iPod touch 4g.

  • Very cool! It's not easy (but not impossible) to get four wheel steering to work. Wouldn't it get more traction without the tracks wrapped around the tires? NXDave

  • The tracks around the wheels are to make the wheels wider, and since the wheel turning angle isn't perfect, the wheels have to slide a little so the tracks help with the turning but do lose some traction
