Hennessey GT Spyder Chassis
This is the mostly finished chassis of my Hennessey model that was abandoned and changed into a Koenigsegg Agera R. I'm fairly certain it used 2 BLACK NXTS, 4 NXT MOTORS, (6-8) M MOTORS, 1 BATTERY BOX, 2 XL MOTORS, 4 PF IR RF SENSORS, AND 1 SWTICH. It's functions were: AWD (powered by 4 NXT motors) through a 4-speed transmission invented by Sariel (switched by two PF M motors), all wheel steering (through two XL motors), functional differential locks in both axles (powered by two M motors), and all wheel disc brakes (powered by two M motors as well). I'm fairly certain it used some sort of trafficator mechanism controlled by a 7th M motor. It also featured portal axles in all wheels, and Independent suspension in all wheels kept very hard by 3 shock absorbers per wheel (two 9.5L soft springs and one 6.5L hard). This vehicle had many flaws however..

The Flaws

This is the first axle design used with this vehicle. This picture was taken before the disc brakes were added. It did not work. Anyway, this project failed for a variety of reasons. The gearbox Sariel invented I have found cannot work in a project that is over 7 pounds in weight. Also, my axle design was very strong and compact.. and the wheel was very well attached and reinforced.. but the weight was too extreme and the vehicle proved unable to move more than 6 inches without having the wheel bend outwards greatly, after the 12 inch mark falling off, breaking the axle, or bending the axle to the point at which the motors were stalled. The vehicle could not move unless placed in 1st (lowest) speed. The vehicle was overall inaccurate, with lots of functions the real GT Spyder did not possess, including front wheel drive, rear wheel steering, lockable differentials, and portal axles. Also, the gearbox should have been a 5 speed + reverse, instead of a 4 speed undefined.

  • Yeah, I get that too. especially when there's more than half a paragraph. It's so many words! it's just photoreceptictally destructive!

  • Honestly, if you want to see a really ridiculously lengthy description, you should go check out my "Zoom's Current Activity" post.

  • Yeah, in reality all you need to do is remove some weight and you should be good. Looks nice even though it didn't work.

  • @NXTein: No, I don't need to remove weight. I just need to find (or design) a gearbox and axle system that is more durable and flexible. Thanks for saying it looks nice though

  • I actually spent weeks working on this. I spent nearly an hour typing and posting it, and yeah, finding the gearbox, designing the axles/transmission. I should have added more pictures and less words. People hate reading. People love looking at cool pictures. That's the way to get high ratings on this website. Unfortunately, I only had 2 pictures of this.
