The Stingray uses plating from the supercar I know it is red but this is part of its charm. This is how it works after 60 minutes 3600 seconds and 900 times the balls pass the color sensor the Stingray goes off this was going to be a plane or a bird but it ended up as a stingray. There is not a lot to say about it but the tail works AND IT HURTS when it chimes it makes ocean sounds and it stays up there for three seconds. This ray makes this model look awesome.
This is the very first step in the ball maze pretty simple the lifter moves the balls up and drops them in the bucket at the top as you can see it gets wider to smaller so the balls will go in easy and come out balanced on the rail. Once getting some speed they hit a bump it the track and fly over the hole and back on the track. They lose some speed one the slowly inclining rail and lose all of it at the steep part so they roll back the opposite way and in to the hole that they jumped over. This stage has no motors but makes this look fun to see.
The whirlpool got its name because I couldn't think of anything else. But since this is a water type project it worked out nicely. this is how it works after going down the hole they are going pretty fast so that made this super hard to make but this is how it works the ball go down, it spins the other ball goes in, it spins knocking the first one down. This has a 4:1 gear ratio so it goes steady. The hard part was that the ball kept falling out :( so it took me a whole hour to try to fix that.
After going down the whirlpool they fall in a bin and go out a hole and then the color sensor see it and sends a message to the NXT number 2. After being seen by the color sensor it rolls down in to the lifter. This is just like the slide but no jump.
After the ball goes in the track it comes out and falls in the bucket which is lifted up and brought back to the top again. It has no gears but it works well and I have never had a time when this unit failed even on the first time.
