H.E.H 1
H.E.H is my entry into the explorer bot challenge, it's fairly unusual, and as far as I know, It is the only robot of it's type on NXTLog, because, (dramatic pause) it is a house on caterpillar tracks! H.E.H stands for Huge Exploration House. Also, the tracks on it can raise on linear actuators so, the tracks could stay down for traction and to spread weight on thin ice, or you can raise the tracks for all-terrain! The simple program tells it to go foward till it sees an obstacle, then it stops and goes forward at full power to get over the obstacle, if it still sees it then it stops , reverses, raises the tracks and tries again, if it still sees the object, it determines that it's a wall, or something it cant get over. I'm entering H.E.H 1 into the ALL TERRAIN EXPLORER part of the challenge. The other aspects of my robot will be shown in the following sections. Pic 1 a cool angle showing most of my robot, pic2 the side, pic3 the other side this time with tracks raised, pic4 the back, and pic5, a view of the actuators that raise the tracks.

  • Wow! That is cool! I really like your mechanism for adjusting to different kinds of terrain. Also, I have had that "Page not found" problem too. Check out this topic on the Lego message boards: http://messageboards.lego.com/en-US/showpost.aspx?PostID=3267544 It is a very useful solutoin. Note that the NXTLOG rules clearly state that we are allowed to post links in comments that are within LEGO.com; therefore, this comment should not be rejected.

  • I've heard (it worked for me) that if you resize your images to a maximum dimension of 800 px, you can upload them.

  • WOW! That is an awesome, um, house. ;) BTW I saw what you commented on bat wing; I think the moderators are busy judging the spooktacular challenge, because none of my projects are being posted either.
