Overkill on the Sensors
This is what I had in mind when I was building this for the Sensor Overload Challenge. Unfortunately, I don't have a program because I don't know how to post one. It has 6 motors, 2 nxt's, 2 color sensors, 2 ultrasonics, 3 touch sensors, a sound sensor, and 13 out of the 14 wires required. Why one short? This all because I just got an nxt, US, color, touch, and 3 motors, and 6 wires from a friend. The first picture is the overall robot. the second picture is a shot of the dual smart bricks. About that, since they are not linked up, they are not synchronized. So they must start at the same time. Third picture is the drive, (which is mirrored on the other side), and the last one lets you see all the sensors. The sensors: the horizontal touch sensor tells it to back up. The vertical one makes a noise. Both color sensors just flash. When the back US sees something closer than 5 inches, it says "Sensor Overload" (bu dum psshhh). The horizontal motor spins a random thing, and the motor at the front helps with drive. And the sound sensor says "sound" when it hears something louder than 80 decibles (can't spell it). Thanks for reading! I don't expect to win something, I just wanted to see how many sensors I could put on one robot. PLEASE comment with criticism and advice. I like that.

  • you could connect them directly using port 4 to port 4 (search "NXT rs485") or you could use Bluetooth top connect them together so that they run in exact sync but i recommend using the rs485 connection. that works by connecting port 4 to port 4 and is practicably instant and requires not searching for other NXT just plug and play. requires a special block in NXT-G
