2-Motor Chassis
This is my first project I post here on NXTLog.
It's a simple vehicel with only two motors for the basic driving functions.
EDIT: So this is the reason I wanted to take part in the Snapbot Challenge with this robot: It's only function is to remotely drive around, so it's very small and has only a few pieces.

When I was searching the internet for a vehicle I could test Philo's with I noticed that I had only four NXT motors. So I looked for a robot with two motors which can be build quickly, but I didn't found anything!
I decided to build one myself and now here's the result.
Please add comments and let me know about Ideas to improve it.

EDIT: Snapbot Challenge [Vehicles]

So, yesterday I saw the Snapbot Challenge and decided to take part in it - with this robot. For the challenge I edited the project a bit to fit in the rules. Everywhere you see an "EDIT:" there are further informations about the challenge entry!

Backwheel

I had a few problems with the fixing of the back wheel, at last I fixed it like shown. This may look a bit strange, but perhaps you can see it as a challenge when driving it!?

Controlling

As I said above, I build this to try this NXT Joystick. So I did what I wanted and - it worked perfect! The car reacted very good, I was able to park him in a gap which was 2 cm wider than it! EDIT: For use less parts, you can also control it via a PC using BlueTooth Remote!

  • Thank you I will try so. I'm actually working on a new project, a complete remote controlled tank with tracks.

  • @kelsey watsey:
I tried to upload a movie but it didn't let me! For the program: I used the program that stephen1675 posted on Philo's Joystick, It works very good with it

  • What do you mean, four motors? I thought the NXT only came with 3. Interesting robot though.

  • Sorry, I didn't got that clear: A few weeks or days before this project I bought some new accessories for the NXT, like a second NXT, converter cables and the new motor. Otherwise I haven't been able to test the joystick, with only one motor for the vehicle
