The “arms” & propellers are what make the blimp go forward, up, and down. The blimps arm is rotated by motor A see picture 2. The propellers are powered by motors B&C and each propeller is geared by (in order from motor to propeller) 40 tooth gear—8 tooth gear—40 tooth gear—8 tooth gear see pictures for more detail.
The remote uses motors B&C (third motor is for looks), three touch sensors (forth doesn’t work right now), two lamps and one NXT. See pictures for detail
Ok there would be a video here if I could get it posted but every time I try to post it, it says ‘Page Not Found’. Any Help!!!!----------------------UPDATE-------UPDATE--------- link to my rebrick page it has the blimps video rebrick.lego.com/en-US/MyRebrick/teddy0/832e8cb8-bfbf-4e1e-8b55-a146017ae6fb.aspx
I got the idea to build a blimp from seeing the Brickit team’s blimp. link to come (mods don't like them right know :) )
---13 hours of build/brainstorm time (estimate);
---13 hours of programming time (estimate);
---3 motors;
---1 NXT;
---Cost $414;
---2 G/F 3 Series Master Airscrew propellers (not Lego);
---Pieces 450 (estimate);
First program is for the blimp, and the second is for the remote. The LLD here is for the remote I’ll try to get the LLD for the blimp done soon. The programs are commented, so there is no need to explain them here. Also the programs still have a lot of bugs, so these are not the final programs.
I hope to build upgraded versions of this blimp in the future, so stay tuned for more!
Upgrades that I would do:
---Add a solar panel for better battery use;
---Make the blimps balloons reusable;
---sensors on the blimp for data logging;
---Better remote;
---Better program;
---Less balloons;
NOTE I wont be making any upgraded versions of this blimp any time soon because I am saving up for a lego tetrex set
