Sleepy Tabby
You have got to be kidding me! The cat is sleeping in the sun again! Lets go rouse him by making some noise. "Meow!" Oh, he didn’t like that! I wonder what he will do if I move him out of the sun. "MEOOOOW!" He really didn’t like that! Look how he scampering around looking for a patch of sun to lie down in. Lazy cat. This is Sleepy Tabby, your cute red kitty . . . But he doesn’t like being disturbed while he is soaking up rays! Try to move him, and he will stand up, meow, and go back to his square of sun. Make a loud sound, and he will stand up and warn you not to that! When he is all content, he will lay down and purr. The hardest part of the cat was making him stand up, and lay down. I first wanted a walking cat, but found it very hard to make a strong walking base that looked like a cats gait and be able to bend in the middle to lie down. So I decided to forfeit that option, and used wheels instead, and I think it achieved the look and function I wanted. The way the cat gets up and lies down is quite simple; it just relies on pushing and pulling. By putting beam off set on the motor, when it turns, it will either push the beam or pull it. Then by attaching the legs on hinges, I could pull them together, and push them apart at the same time! The head is attached to the front legs, so it moves with them. This makes it look like he is facing the sun, soaking up the warm rays.
