Jeeves the Butler Bot
This is my first NXT project. I just got the NXT 2.0 for Christmas. I was planning to do this project before I got my NXT. I also found out there is a Robotic Arm Building Challenge, so this project is perfect. Here's all you need to know about it. Building: I started with the claw (picture 2) and then with the arm and base. (picture 1) The base is taped to a remote controlled car that has a camera on it so you know where your going without getting up. The base has all the sensors for choosing multiple choices. Programming: If you want to do a similar project you can look in the .RBT file. When it times how long you want the robot to wait put any amount you want. Also you can measure the different degrees to bend the arm as far as you want it. How It Works: First, I put a green ball in front of the color sensor and it greets me. Then I choose if I want it to clean or get me a snack. I push the first touch sensor and it waits for the car to stop in front of a cabinet. It picks the snack up and the ultra sonic sensor waits until the trailer (right of Picture 1) is in front of it. It drops the snack in the trailer and says "Good Bye". I drive the car back and that's how it gets me a snack. (Picture 3) If I don't press the touch sensor it waits for me to place it on a table and holds a paper towel or sponge. I drive the car back and forth and it wipes the table. (Picture 4) That's everything you need to know and please comment, I want to know if my first project is good or not.
